Panic Attack 03:00
Miss Demeanour...she took me to the cleaners I only tried to save her from that bad behaviour Miss Bipolar...I tried to get to know her She gets the party started, but leaves it broken hearted Now is the world so sad? Or is this just a panic attack? Mister Muscle...the gangster king of hustle. If you’re out of favour, his boys’ll see you later Mistress Strychnine...you’d better keep your nose clean She’ll have you in a zip bag with your name on a toe tag Now has the world gone bad? Or is this just a panic attack? Miss Sclerotic...she’s borderline psychotic If she gets a drink inside her, she’ll set your house on fire Master Planner...they march behind his banner Brainwashed on their mission to implement his vision Now has the world gone mad? Or is this just a panic attack?

Gotta Go! 02:35
I like to while some time away, watching in a busy place People rushing through their day, stress on every face I wonder where they’re all off to? Meetings? Briefings? Rendezvous? They’ve got so many things to do, but no time to lose I’ve gotta go! I’ve got places to be...I’ve gotta go! I’ve got people to see... I’ve gotta go! I’ve got things to do...I’ve gotta be somewhere else and soon... All those people, all those lives, all that mass of humankind It’s a place where chaos thrives, don’t get left behind Race the clock if you want to, push right past or stand and queue Time will still catch up with you, no matter what you do I’ve gotta go! I’ve got places to be...I’ve gotta go! I’ve got people to see... I’ve gotta go! I’ve got things to do...I’ve gotta be somewhere else and soon...

Where do you come from? Where do you go? From the depths of my imagination to some far off shore. From some slimey mass in the bowels of the planet, regurgitated up through fissures in the earth’s crust, like a gannet? Or from eggs cast down from heaven’s stars on the dew of a summer night, hatched by the warm caress of the day’s golden light? Keep my mind free from explanation, let my imagination run wild. Let me feel the fascination, see with the eyes of a child. Something ancient from the dawn of time. Sleek, smooth like linen sheets, all covered in slime. The moon’s full gaze lures you from your muddy lair, and up from the depths of my soul into the languid night air. Through dew heavy grass you slither and snake, across my mind’s eye into a cool dark shimmering lake.

Singled out for a singular lack of ambition. No motivation, dedication. Absence of tenacity. Swim in cynicism. Wallow in self pity. So wrong it’s ironic... Not slow to show I didn’t know what I wanted. Confused, I’d choose to abuse my quintessential potential, courting fortune and the inconsequential. So wrong it’s ironic... Realize it was lies, the ideology. Security is a fallacy when a lucky guess is your best bet. Eager believers are so easily dispossessed. So wrong it’s ironic... Take no delight in the plight of the righteous. The transience of affluence, or the crushing weight of cruel fate. Justice, you can’t trust this, and luck you can’t placate. So wrong it’s ironic...

I move in you as you move in me, and in these moments as I swim In the warm depths of your soul, I see the real you And it’s a different kind of blue... I see the little girl inside of you, I see her fears, her desires too I see her wounds and scars, I see the true person you are And it’s a different kind of blue... You say you’re not romantic, you’re just a good time girl Knocked down, bounces back, papering over the cracks But it’s as if I, as if I always knew Deep inside you’re a different kind of blue... Let’s swim through each other to a far off land Where we can walk the beaches hand in hand Lie together, looking at the stars United in a different kind of blue...

Sometimes you need to recompense for words and deeds that made no sense But everybody needs a second chance Things can go so far wrong you just don’t know what’s going on But everybody needs a second chance Everybody needs a second chance... Not everyone intends to try to make amends But everybody needs a second chance By accident or by design, through bad intent or out of time Everybody needs a second chance Lack of care or lack of skill, wear and tear or just ill will Everybody needs a second chance... A misfortune, a bad romance, an inopportune circumstance Everybody needs a second chance Can you forgive? Can you forget? Can you just live without regret? Everybody needs a second chance...

Betty Botox 03:25
Betty Botox is terrified of wrinkles and saturated fats, flat pack furniture and men in cravats. Her botoxed brow gives an air of mild perplexion, her lips are plump, her breasts are pumped, all the bits move in the right direction. Teeth artificially snowy white, could cause snow blindness in bright light. She is an identikit babe... Preened, buff boyfriend Ken, a rippling six pack hunk, spray tanned vision of manhood, swathed in designer label, cost-a-lot clothes, loves Betty for her looks, and her porn star chic. Their love is only skin deep... Age of celebrity, of style over content, looks over brains. Shiny, bland mindless face. Famed for being famous. Mindless blandness, wrinkle-free blankness with an air of mild surprise. I wish that natural was the new beautiful... Glossy magazines and reality TV. Faddy diets, hair extensions, protein shakes, steroid injections. Arduous hours at the gym, keeping themselves trim. Mirror mirror mirror on the wall, obsessed by their own reflections... Their life is only skin deep... Experience the world through their digital devices. A world they can fashion to the shape of their vices. A virtual universe that revolves around them. A pick and mix morality and Disney spirituality... and tattooed platitudes...

Time’s passing is etched upon my face. Each furrow reminds me of the time we met, you ripped my heart, you ripped my heart from my chest. You ran off with it to the edge of forever, but you have yet to return. How long I have waited with each beat of the heart you hold... The leaves are turning in the golden autumn sun The leaves are beginning to fall to where they began... And just when I thought that all was lost, you return, different, yet the same. You hold my heart, still, I hold you in my arms again... We can dance at the edge of forever. Forever, for a time... The leaves are turning in the golden autumn sun The leaves are beginning to fall to where they began...

Living on a desert island...nowhere to go No-one to see...no-one to know Running from life That’s what I’m doing, yeah... I want to live my life to the full I want to fill it to the top Oh, but I’m such a damn fool And no-one can help me Running from life That’s what I’m doing, yeah...

Meet You 05:34
Meet you at the place where the sun shines on the righteous, on the unrighteous alike. Meet you at the place where we were forged, we, oh we, we belonged. Meet you at the place where nothing really matters, we all, yes we, melt into one. All the pain, all the heartache, all the frets and the fears, melt away, oh melt away, into nothing. Meet you at the river’s edge, where the swallows they race, and the meadows are shimmering...and the meadows are shimmering... and the meadows are shimmering... in the, in the sun. We can bathe in absolution, we can forgive and forget, Where it all begins and ends, where it all begins and ends, where it all begins and ends, we will be reborn.

about

Welcome to the world of Gripper Lee 3, with lyrics like beat poetry, whose themes hitch-hike the highways of life. The music is warm and spacious: just three instruments, minimal use of overdubs, and catchy tunes drawing on an eclectic mix of influences. Crofty is from a jazz, blues and folk background, whilst Richie and Gripper bring punk and rock respectively. You could label their style as ‘jazz punk’, but it doesn’t really sound like either. Stream a few tracks, or give the record a spin, and see where it takes you...
